Uganda: Archbishop Odama calls for peace and love in the New Year 2024.

Uganda's Archbishop of Gulu, John Baptist Odama, has made a passionate plea for peace and love in 2024.

Archbishop Odama made the appeal when he spoke to local media shortly after attending the religious profession of Missionary Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church (MSMMC) at Ngetta in Uganda’s Lira diocese.

The prelate called it a shame that human beings are still fighting each other after a million years of existence. He has since called for tolerance, forgiveness, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence in the New Year, 2024.

Jesus transforms lives

Citing wars between Ukraine and Russia, Palestine and Israel, as well as the armed conflicts in Sudan and South Sudan, Archbishop Odama revealed that it is a sign that people have not yet been transformed by the birth of Jesus Christ in the world.

He said Jesus Christ was born to bring transformation in the lives of human beings as well as unity between God and humanity.

The Archbishop further reiterated that the year 2024 should be violence-free. He emphasised that a violence-free world begins at home.
