Sheila Pires, Pope English Africa Collaborator - Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
In his presentation and reflection on the document for the continental stage, Nigerian Jesuit and Theologian, Fr Agbonkhianmeghe Orobator, highlighted listening, saying that a listening Church is a home for sisters and brothers who feel left out.
Women deserve better
Fr Orobator went on to highlight the marginalised, the wounds of the Catholic Church and hierarchy. He reminded the participants that women who make up the larger part of the Catholic community are not recognised and that patriarchy still dominates the Catholic Church in Africa.
Following Fr Orobator presentation, participants were divided into groups to reflect on spiritual conversation.
